Judges Announced For 2008 Royal Highland Show Dairy cattle at next year’s Royal Highland Show will be competing for the event’s most prestigious award - The Queens Cup. The cup is awarded on a rotational basis in each of the livestock sections and in 2008, John Loftus, Preese Hall, Weeton, Lancashire, will select the supreme winner from the individual champions of the Ayrshire, Holstein, Jersey and Dairy Shorthorn breeds. Mr Loftus is one of more than 80 judges already confirmed for the 2008 show. They include recently retired RHASS Director John Morison of Coupar Grange, Blairgowrie, who will judge the overall sheep inter-breed, former RHASS Vice President David Leggat from Bankfoot, Perthshire, who will officiate in the beef inter-breed team and overall championship and another former RHASS Director Scott McGregor who will fly from Victoria, Australia, to judge the female Highland ponies. Other overseas judges include Don Robbie from Eketahuma in New Zealand (Herefords), Steve Gregg from Cargill, Ontario (Heavy Horse Turnouts) and S Wagner from Haag, Germany (Galloways). In the light horse section, the HOYS Cuddy Breeders Challenge Supreme In-Hand Championship qualifier will be judged by Mrs Joyce Coltart, The Stables, Tour, Kilmaurs.
